On Saturday, 16 October, representatives of JLV Huellas and SMV Investment visited Poblanco, a rural community in Santa Bárbara, Antioquia. They brought a donation to El Guayabo School’s Poblanco campus, and offered residents legal guidance.
The school’s technology equipment had been stolen in 2019. The original account reported that 37 school-age students had been left without those resources, and that many did not have a computer or phone at home for research.
After learning about the situation, Pedro Vásquez, identified in that publication as the foundation’s president, arranged a donation of four computers and sports equipment through JLV Huellas.
SMV Investment also provided free legal guidance. Residents asked about family matters, inheritance, divorce, division of property and land, lot documentation and child support.
Jessica Mejía, identified in the article as the foundation’s legal representative, described the value of helping families who might not be able to pay for legal advice. She also noted the potential for 15 early-childhood pupils to benefit from the donated equipment as they grew older.
