Founder record

The JLV Huellas Foundation grew out of the dream and commitment of two young brothers, Joseph Vásquez, 18, and Louis Vásquez, 16. They understood that helping people in vulnerable circumstances has no age limit or boundaries.

As teenagers, they decided to dedicate time, ideas and effort to a larger purpose: improving the quality of life of underserved communities in South America, with a particular focus on Colombia. Their determination led them to become the foundation’s founders and driving forces. They contributed not only direction and leadership but also field work, support for families and the fresh perspective of a new generation.

Mission and vision

At JLV Huellas, we work to transform vulnerable communities through comprehensive support for families. We strengthen their capacity to access dignified housing, build purposeful businesses, improve their surroundings and develop community relationships. Our work aims to help more children grow up in safe homes, with real opportunities and environments that support their well-being now and in the future.

We aspire to become a leading foundation in Colombia through a sustainable approach to social support that connects housing, entrepreneurship and community development as essential ways to break cycles of poverty. We envision a country where every family has the tools and support to build a future with independence, dignity and hope.

Objective

Contribute to the overall development of families in vulnerable circumstances through an approach that combines access to dignified housing, stronger small businesses, social and community work, and improved surroundings. The aim is to create sustainable opportunities, reduce inequality and improve quality of life in communities.

Four action areas

Our comprehensive approach brings together four areas of action: housing guidance and support, support for entrepreneurs, social and community work, and improvements to shared environments. Each area connects to our objective: providing real opportunities for families to build a better future.
